Good wine is first made by the soil, the sun and the quality of the vines, then by good cultivation and diligent harvesting, and finally by regular winemaking, directed for the purpose of not wasting the product of nature with absurd art.

The crew
The Zublena farm is family-run, a small enity of 4.5 ha vineyard with 50 per cent white Erbaluce grapes and 50% of red grapes (Nebbiolo, Barbera, Bonarda and old ancient native varieties) and 3 ha planted with kiwi.

Our philosophy
The Zublena winery, handed down from generation to generation, has kept alive the winegrowing traditions of his grandparents and father. The vineyards, tended with passion and dedication, still feature the historical pergola-trained vines, a method that favours better exposure to the sun and optimal ventilation. After flowering, the bunches of grapes are gently released and spread out, ensuring that each grape receives the air it needs to develop at its best. This traditional approach not only preserves the identity of the winery, but also contributes to the production of high quality wines, rich in flavour and character.

The Vineyards
At an altitude of between 300 and 400 metres above sea level, south of the slopes of the Serra moraine hill, near Viverone Lake, our soils present an exceptional combination of favourable factors for viticulture.
The moraine soil is rich in stony material and mineral salts with sand, silt and clay in small quantities.
Its composition is characterised by a pH tending to acidity and a predominantly sandy grain size that creates an ideal environment for varieties such as Nebbiolo, Barbera and Erbaluce.
The absence of limestone and the low calcium and magnesium content require special attention in agronomic management, but they also offer unique opportunities to develop high quality wines, enhancing the peculiarities of the area. These practices allow local farmers to guarantee distinctive products, appreciated for their character and uniqueness.
In this habitat, between the dry stone walls, alternating with woods and kiwi and orchard cultivations, there are our vineyards.
In 2021, we carried out a significant modernisation of our wine cellar, equipping it with temperature-controlled steel tanks. This innovation allows us to vinify our entire production with greater precision and quality. For the production of our Charmat sparkling wine, we collaborate with another winery, to which we supply our must. This process allows us to maintain high standards and guarantee a final product of excellence.
